A–Z of Creative Projects

Responding to brief for audio visual or digital work involves planning and budgeting, alongside generating creative ideas.

This 2 day, 2 evening course is designed to develop your planning and production management skills and use them to win work.

Course Outline

Session One: Introduction

Wednesday 21 October 6–9pm

Introduction to the course and the skills to be developed. A creative industry professional with extensive project management experience will give insights into successful approaches focusing on effective use of time and resources.

Session Two: Practical Case Studies

Friday 6 November 9.30am–5pm

Further input from professional, followed by work on a practice case study and development skills in planning and pitching skills. At the end of the day, you will pitch in response to a brief.

Session Three: Production and Digital Workflow

Saturday 7 November 9.30am–5pm

Industry professional will focus on both audio-visual production management and effective planning of digital workflow. Participants then work on developing plans and schedules for a live project they bring in and on producing a pitch for the project.

Session Three: Production and Digital Workflow

Thursday 12 November 6–9pm

This final session brings together the skills learned. Partcipants pitch their own project to industry panel and have one-to-ones with panel members about their pitches and future projects.

Participants will complete the EDI LEVEL 3 CERTIFICATE IN PROJECT MANAGEMENT. This will involve creating a portfolio containing plans, notes and other evidence.

Refreshments:

A light meal will be provided on all evening sessions, and Lunch plus refreshment breaks will be offered during the full day sessions. This will consist of sandwiches, light snacks, tea, coffee and soft drinks.

How to get a Free place

To qualify for FREE funding for this courses you need to be:

  • A minimum of 19 years old
  • Living or working in Gloucestershire
  • Be either employed by a small business (between 1-249 employees)
  • Or running your own business (this can include freelancers if you have a business bank account or are self-employed for tax purposes)
  • Be working in the creative/media industry, or have some knowledge of the creative/media industry and wish to pursue a career in this field

The course is free, however, as we only receive our funding once individuals have achieved the qualification linked to the course, we do ask for a deposit of £100, which is refunded in full upon successful completion.
